Early spring orchard, oblique light under
western sun winnowed by late-storm
clouds, solidifies geometry of dark trunks
grown thick-waisted, bark soaked,
swelled by rain, moss on soil
hysterical green, incandescent,
small red blossoms, everything a-tremble.
