We are so far inward
we no longer hear the snow.
Because the depths
must be revisited,
must know there are friends,
we send music-box daughter
a poisoned arrow
and wait for the hole
in her chest; hole after hole
in the grouse-sucked dark
of the bird-worm's home
where a table is set
for God knows what
alarms have blossomed.
