Julia Istomina was born in
Moscow, Russia and came to the States in 1990. She explores a variety of
themes within her work including the nature of cultural associations and
language. Her poems, translations, and essays have appeared or are
forthcoming in Ars Interpres, Shampoo, Big Bridge,
Stride Magazine (UK), DMQ Review, Bathyspheric Review,
Rain Taxi, and The Gertrude Stein Awards Anthology. She
has previously studied with the Australian poet John Kinsella and is
an M.F.A. candidate at the New School. |
